Butterbird Bakery & Café

Butterbird Bakery
& Café

Project Overview

Brand identity and packaging design for Butterbird, a Chicago-based bakery that began as a single baker operating out of a home kitchen. The goal was to create a visual identity that felt modern, approachable, and scalable as the business continued to grow.

By keeping the color palette minimal and the design system intentionally simple, the brand achieves strong visual recognition without unnecessary clutter, making it instantly identifiable across packaging, signage, and future touchpoints.

As Butterbird expands into coffee sales through a partnership with a local roaster, the packaging needed to stand out on crowded retail shelves while maintaining a cohesive brand presence. The resulting coffee bag designs balance shelf impact with brand consistency, creating a distinctive visual system that can grow alongside the business.
